Editing: Professional Work

Being handed hours of interview footage and b-roll, sorting through it and weaving it together to find The Story is one of my favorite things. This is the type of work where I am most easily able to enter the "flow state:" where hours pass and I won't even notice.

Why Companies Choose Appian

2020

Appian needed a new intro video that both explained what they do and showcased some of their happy customers in less than 90 seconds. This would become the video that automatically plays on their YouTube channel, a video that can be shown at tradeshows or events as an exciting intro answering the question: "Who is Appian?"

I chose customer quotes from previous interviews based on current messaging, edited them, and produced the motion graphics for this project.

Out of Office: Cathy & Frank's Vineyard

2017

The first episode in a new series by Appian in which we get a glimpse of employees' lives outside of work. In this episode, Appian's Associate General Counsel takes us to the vineyard she runs with her dad for their first harvest.

I developed this concept alongside the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition as part of an effort to highlight to both our current and future employees that we care about their whole self, and that the hobbies they do outside of work are important to what they can accomplish at work.

I filmed this with a team, edited it, and produced the motion graphics.

Out of Office: Christina the Dancer

2019

The second episode in this series in which we get a glimpse of employees' lives outside of work, this time with the spotlight on a professional services consultant who is also a dancer.

Benjamin & Margie Karp: Lexington Philharmonic

2016

Benjamin and Margie are two educators and members of the Lexington Philharmonic. This project is a part of a series by Creative Lexington, which highlights local artists to support the creative scene in the Lexington, Kentucky community.

I filmed and edited this project.

Dan's Aha Moment

2022

As part of a weekly series published on social media, this engineer shares his story of an "aha moment" he had while working with Appian's software.

I filmed this with a team and edited it.
